Cheerleader Vote & Win
16 Cheerleader squads are cheering for each of the nations competing in the 2012 Hertz Sevens. From Thursday February 2nd to Saturday February 4th 2012 you can text message vote for which of the 16 squads you think is the best of the best. It’s one vote per squad, per person, per day and each vote puts you in the draw to 2 tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens*. And the squad with the most votes will win $7,000!|
To vote simply text* the name of the country your favourite cheerleading squad is cheering for to 5678 e.g. Kenya. The cheerleader squad with the most votes wins the cash and the glory and you go in the draw.
*Texts cost 9c for 2 degrees 022 customers, and 20c for Telecom NZ 025 and 027 and Vodafone/Telstra Clear 021 and 029 customers.
Terms and Conditions
1. The information on 'HOW TO ENTER' forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
2. On entry into this promotion, you are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. Entry is open to all residents of New Zealand except for employees of Wellington Rugby Limited, Positively Wellington Tourism, their agencies and immediate families.
3. The Promoters are Positively Wellington Tourism (PWT) and Wellington Rugby Limited ("the Promoters").
4. Text entry is open to 2degrees 022, Telecom NZ 025 and 027 and Vodafone/Telstra Clear 021 and 029 customers. Customers on international roaming are ineligible to enter. The Promoters reserve the right to provide information about your participation to either 2degrees, Vodafone or Telecom NZ. And by entering the competition you authorise your mobile provider to provide information about you to the promoters for the purpose of the competition.
5. You can vote once per day for each cheerleader squad for the duration of the promotion.
6. You must be the owner of the mobile phone to enter via text messaging.
7. The Promoters accept no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.
8. Entrants agree to participate in a photoshoot and/or interview in the event that they are a winner, and consent to the Promoters using their name and image in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting the Hertz Sevens or any other services or promotions offered by the Promoters.
9. This promotion commences 12:00pm New Zealand time on Thursday February 2nd 2012. Final entries close at 7:30pm New Zealand time on Saturday 4 February 2012. The winning entry will be drawn on Monday 6 February 2012. The winner will be notified via phone or text message by 5pm New Zealand time on Friday 10 February 2012. The winner’s name may also be published on the mobile site m.sevens.co.nz or website www.Sevens.co.nz and in any associated newsletters of the Hertz Sevens. If the winner cannot be identified or contacted or does not come forward to claim their prize by 5pm New Zealand time on Friday 24 February 2012, the Promoters have the right to redraw the prize. The prize draw is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
10. For the avoidance of doubt, the person who owns the mobile phone or other device from which the winning entry is sent, and who is responsible for the cost of the text, is entitled to the prize. The Promoters may however presume that the person who receives the notification referred to above is that person, and may award the prize in accordance with information provided by that person without checking further. In case of dispute over entitlement to the prize, it is the responsibility of the owner to prove, at their sole cost and to the Promoter’s satisfaction, such ownership not later than 24 February 2012, and if he or she fails to do so, the Promoter may redraw a new winning entry.
11. The first entry drawn in the Hertz Sevens Cheerleader Vote & Win Text Competition will win two (2) general admission tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens in Wellington, New Zealand. Third party terms and conditions apply in respect of this prize – i.e. terms and conditions of TicketMaster and Wellington Rugby Limited.
12. Travel and all incidental costs associated with claiming the prize, are the responsibility of the winner.
13. The prize is not transferable (except in terms of paragraph 12 above), exchangeable or redeemable for cash. In the event that a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoters’ control, the Promoters may, in its sole discretion, substitute a prize of equal or greater financial value. In particular Entrants acknowledge that the International Rugby Board is yet to confirm allocation of a tournament in the Sevens World Series to New Zealand in 2013 and beyond, and that should no such allocation be made, the prize may not be available.
14. The Promoters and their agents are not responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of the promotion or accepting or using the prize.
15. The Promoters may use the information obtained from the entrant for future mobile phone correspondence. All personal information obtained from the entrant will remain confidential and will not be provided to any third party without the entrant's consent except as required by law.
SMS Entry and Entry Confirmations
1. All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoters' database, NOT at the time of transmission by the entrant.
2. The eventual delivery of SMS messages is largely dependent on additional parties and the effective functioning of the sender's mobile operator's systems and infrastructure. Consequently the Promoters will not be liable for non-receipt of or late receipt of messages.
3. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
4. The Promoters are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any default of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
5. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoters which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoters reserves the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
6. All entries received in the promotion are intended to receive a reply confirmation message. In times of high entry volumes some delays may occur in the delivery of this reply message. The Promoters will endeavour to provide all confirmation text messages promptly however, successful delivery depends on additional parties such as telecommunication network suppliers and ISP's and the Promoters provide no guarantee that messages will arrive promptly or arrive at all. Message delivery performance is also subject to the recipient's mobile terminal being switched on and located within an area that is acceptably covered by the recipient's services provider and, mobile operators can prevent their subscribers from receiving SMS messages, for whatever reasons, and in such cases message delivery is not possible. The Promoters and their partners will not be held responsible for any loss or damages whatsoever arising from the receipt or non-receipt of text messages.
